At present, the substrate and powder manufacturers of AlN in the world include Tokuyama Co., LTD., CoorsTek Co., LTD., Toyo Aluminum Co., LTD., Ningxia Essenda New Material Technology Co., LTD., Xiamen Juci Technology Co., LTD., Shandong National Porcelain Functional Materials Co., LTD., Chaozhou Sanhuan (Group) Co., LTD. Among them, there are 2 in Japan, 4 in China and 1 in the United States. The proportion of Chinese products in the market is far ahead.

Tokuyama is by far the biggest manufacturer in Japan.  As China's semiconductor manufacturing capacity is increasing, with an annual capacity of nearly 720 tons in 2021, Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has put forward policies such as the need for strategic materials in economic security in order to boost Japan's semiconductor industry and prevent its decline.  AlN itself, therefore, the research and development of national special funds in Japan not provided (except for the basic research of university), but from the start of this year the ceramic related national projects, there is a project with production technical efficiency into the target points, and of the AlN production technology in Japan and the theme of efficiency is on the agenda of the possibility is very large.  But it is not clear whether Mr Tokuyama is keen to push ahead, depending on his future strategy.
